Company History

Formed in early 1988, Skylight's initial goal was to provide specialized relational database management, consulting and programming, as well as data conversion from legacy systems to newer, state-of-the-art accounting systems.

Skylight's early offerings were for ATD-American Company, a high-transaction distribution company, in the form of a front-to-back supply-chain management backbone.  ATD was involved in many different markets, and the software needed to be extremely flexible to handle the diverse business requirements of each of its divisions.  Being client/server based and written in an advanced programming environment, Skylight's software enabled ATD to experience tremendous growth.

The merits of such an innovative system showed seemingly endless potential, and in 1992, Skylight Systems unveiled Relational Financial Systems (RFS ®), a commercialized successor of the ATD system.

When RFS was introduced in 1992, Skylight was among the first vendors to release a true client/server package for the distribution enterprise.  The company is committed to continually enhancing RFS as the latest technology gives rise to new business practices.

Skylight Systems, Inc. is owned by Jerome Zaslow, Arnold Zaslow and Spencer Zaslow, who also own ATD-American.  Skylight relies on ATD-American's 70 years of experience in wholesale distribution, and on its owners' business expertise for guidance and direction.
