Remote server-based computing enables our customers to run RFS on the Internet with exceptional performance.  Using “thin client” technology and remote hosting, RFS now runs through a standard Web-browser, drastically reducing IT expenses.  Customers can access RFS E-Business software on an old, slow machine with excellent performance, minimizing the cost and hassles of administration and database management.

RFS was built with Passport Corporation’s signature product, Passport, a powerful fourth-generation SQL-based development toolset.  Because the Passport environment facilitates portability, Skylight has been able to port RFS to new platforms and databases with minimal time and effort.  Companies using RFS are at an advantage, as they can more quickly adapt and benefit from technological innovations.

The standard RFS user interface is 32-bit Microsoft Windows (i.e. Windows95/98/NT).  In addition, Passport technology allows RFS to be ported to Unix/Motif operating systems.

RFS is compatible with the most popular relational database management systems: MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase.
